Because we missed our Hoppy Tuesday Showcase yesterday, we decided to bring up the most popular hop used in craft brewing today: Cascade.
Cascade is an aromic hop that was first bred in 1956 by "open pollinating" Fuggle seedling. You can expect a strong floral, citrus, and spicy character added to your beer. Cascade can also be used as a bittering hop. Just take a look at it's brewing values:
Alpha Acid: 5 - 5.9 %
Beta Acid: 6 - 7.5 %
Total Oil: 0.8 - 2.4 mL/100g
